The Grand Opening of the new exhibit took place at the regular “Sunday At The Museum” event on April 7th. The community was invited to hear a short presentation in the auditorium before the unveiling of the Old School History Museum “Sports Wall of Fame” exhibit and a chance to meet some of the Hall of Famers and their families.

Eatonton, GA, has an amazing history that visitors to the Old School History Museum enjoy regularly. But who would have imagined that this small city could claim eleven athletes who collectively have been enshrined in 29 Sports Halls of Fame! Their sports include football, baseball, basketball, track, golf, and skeet shooting…five are also outstanding coaches!
If you live in Eatonton, you may know some of them or their families but didn’t know of their amazing success. Now you will be able to learn about them through a permanent “Sports Wall of Fame” exhibit created by the Old School History Museum.
